Words of Justice
For all French people, justice is a deeply serious subject that should not be taken lightly. Since, in most cases, we only encounter—or call upon—the justice system in delicate or painful circumstances, our perception of it is ambivalent. We turn to it to have our rights recognized, while simultaneously fearing or criticizing it for its slowness, complexity, supposed inhumanity, and even its mistakes.

Justice, “our” Justice, relates to the very organization of society and directly to the values of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. Everyone knows this and experiences it, and any message on this subject—especially when it comes from the ministry—will be “judged” at a certain level of political and democratic reaction and reflection.
However, according to a recent survey, over 70% of French people are not satisfied with how justice operates. Even if this figure is improving, the viewer’s perspective is likely still critical.
The planned series of short programs must therefore serve an informative and awareness-raising role. Informative, because citizens generally have a poor understanding of how this important power functions and need information; and awareness-raising, because while it’s impossible to explain everything in a few seconds, it’s essential to convey that justice is “making progress.”
